Ontario to Nova Scotia - A love affair with a bicycle
About My Trip
After getting back from Baffin Island we had one day to repack our gear, load our bikes, and start peddling. Utilizing warmshowers.org the tent and sleeping bag was left at home. Throughout most of the trip major highways were avoided and bike pathways were frequented, including a lengthy section of the Trans Canada trail. In total the trip took 13 days, 1518 km, 1 flat tire, 2 ferries, and 7 very generous hosts.
- Biking in Quebec on a saturday morning and finding ourselves at the front of a pace line of 10 other cyclists. As an outsider it would have been entertaining to see bikers with panniers leading the pack.
- Arriving at our hosts home in Old Quebec City to find the keys in the mailbox and a note saying "make yourself at home". I never did meet them.
- Meeting a random person in Tim Horton's (of course) who ended up being a co-worker of a future host of ours. As a result of that meeting our host let us stay at her place even though she wasn't home.
- Meeting my uncle in Digby, NS who finished the ride with us
