Last summer I had the pleasure of hiking the Sawback trail with Jenna and 5 other women. This is the first ever guided backpacking trip I have taken. The organization and planning made for an highly enjoyable and trip that I will never forget. From hot coffee and tea over breakfast to dessert after a wonderful meal, Jenna ensured everything was taken care of for all of our comfort. The Sawback trail provided a challenging yet beautiful experience in the Rockies for our group. Jenna's positive energy and vibrancy, and knowledge of the mountains kept us engaged during the entire trip. I highly recommend Jenna as a guide for any experience of hiker or backpacker.

I've been hiking and snowshoeing with Jenna, and she's been great. On the snowshoe trip she surprised us; at lunch she pulled out a stove, heated some chocolate, and gave us cut up fruit to dip in the warm, thick chocolate! What a wonderful treat on a cold day!
When the opportunity came up to do an introductory backpacking trip, I knew it would be well done, and I was not disappointed. Jenna did a classroom orientation on what we would need to do when we backpack without a guide. She went over logistics, food, camping gear, clothing, how to look up the weather, map reading..... It was a very well organized orientation and we were given many resources to use on our own later.
The trip itself to Taylor Lake was eye opening. Jenna provided many little tips; how to create small bundles of specific tools for cooking and personal hygiene, how to pack more efficiently, what to bring for food, what "grey water" is (wasn't really sure), how to use a food hang, provided instruction on trails, how to read maps, etc. She was very patient, and it was a fun time, and I learned sooooo much. I'm looking forward to our next trip together, but I'm also feeling much more confident to go out on my own as well. Well done!!

Jenna was a wonderful guide. She was enthusiastic, organized, and gladly shared with the group, her knowledge and love of the backcountry. Throughout the trip she was very attentive to individual and group needs. This was key because it enabled her to safely guide the group each day across some very physically challenging landscapes and distances. She also has a great sense of humour and easily engaged with everyone on the trip. I would highly recommend her as a guide and look forward to going on a trip with her again in the future!

I recently had the pleasure of hiking the West Coast Trail with a group co-guided by Jenna Nodding. The primary thing I look for from a guide is technical competence; do I have trust that my guide is providing appropriate advice and decisions on my behalf. On this trip, both guides had my complete confidence. In Jenna's case, her competence became apparent the night before we started, as she advised us on our gear for our week long trip. It was clear she had extensive backpacking experience and was keenly interested in sharing that with the group. But beyond this technical competence, I believe Jenna has a real gift for leading groups such as ours ... from the warmup session each morning to our interactions on the trail, her smile, her cheerful fun filled exuberance, and the care and attention she gave to each individual on the trip were simply infectious for the whole group and contributed to a wonderful group dynamics.

I was really looking forward to hiking West Coast Trail with my daughter in August 2014 but had some safety concerns due to the trail's reputation for being very slippery and dangerous. Jenna was one of our guides when we hiked the trail and she was instrumental in making the trip a safe, enjoyable journey. Jenna was very friendly, personable and always willing to assist whenever a hiker needed guidance or encouragement to do something out of their comfort zone. She also made sure that the slower members of the group weren’t left behind to fend for themselves. On the West Coast Trail, I especially appreciated her directions to help me navigate some of the massive tree root systems and boulders when it was difficult to decide which route was the safest. I will always treasure my memories of our West Coast Trail experience and certainly appreciate her skills as a guide.

,Jenna was one of our guides when my Mom and I hiked the West Coast Trail in August 2014. I appreciated her knowledge and expertise as a guide and her background as a physiotherapist. She led us through daily yoga and exercise routines to help reduce muscle soreness and keep us limber. She also advised how to reduce the risk of knee pain and other injuries as well as addressed specific concerns that came up. She and her fellow guide made delicious meals for us and cleaned up which was a real treat at the end of a long exhausting day. I thoroughly enjoyed my trip and highly recommend her as a guide.
